THE TEAMS

Mochdre Cricket Club has chosen to remain loyal to the North Wales Cricket League and enters two teams in this competition on a Saturday. The First X1 play in Division 1 and the Second X1 in Division 3. In addition, a 'Taveners' and a Colts team play in the local midweek evening league and last year saw the introduction of an under 11's team playing friendly matches on a Sunday morning against other local teams.

The venture into Junior Cricket was very successful with tremendous enthusiasm being shown by the increasing number of children who attend the midweekpractice sessions. Such was the interest, the newly elected committee decided to expand the junior section to incorperate teams in the under 9, undre 11, and under 13 age groups. Two senior members under took a coaching programme and other players have committed themselves to giving assistance at practice sessions.

Another first at Mochdre this season is the formation of a ladies team. Several girls from within the village have expressed an interest in playing the game, the club is keen to increase participation in the game and its links with the community and will support this new team.
